National Honor Society

If you’re in high school and have heard about the National Honor Society before you join, what is it and what motivates you to join? To answer this question, I need to give you some background on the organization and why it is so important to me.
The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization dedicated to honoring outstanding high school students. The National Honors Society (NHS) is the organization for high school students that promotes leadership, service, character and erudition.
Students are selected for the organization based on their grade point average (GPA) and their leadership, leadership, character and academic performance.
The first thing you will do as a member of the National Honor Society is attend a local initiation ceremony with your classmates. At the inauguration of the new junior class, 92 out of 230 students in the class were admitted to society.
For the rest of the year, members of the National Honor Society are required to volunteer a certain number of hours and attend chapter meetings. This usually involves honouring your promise and meeting other NHS members. A minimum of two hours of voluntary time is available for each chapter meeting and a maximum of three hours for the whole year.
In its own constitution and handbook, the NJHS has established criteria consistent with the focus on the NHS, with the additional aim of promoting citizenship. Membership is open to any student who meets the required standards, and the selection standard was set by the NHS national office and has since been revised to meet the needs of local authorities.
NHS NJHS is sponsored and overseen by the NASSP, which appoints the National Council, the NHS’s governing body, and is administered by its Student Activities Department, based in Reston, VA. Members of the National Council are also members of the board of trustees for the prestigious NHS Scholarship, which has been awarded annually to schools with an NHS chapter since 1946.
The Articles of Association of the National Honor Society were revised in 2008 and approved by the NASSP Board. The organization’s name is “The National Honors Society of National High School Students of America.”
The purpose of the organisation is to inspire enthusiasm for science, foster a sense of service, promote leadership and develop the character of secondary school students.
